The AI Assistant in Foxit PDF Editor leverages ChatGPT to help users work with documents more intelligently and efficiently. It offers natural language chat, document and image analysis, summarization, rewriting, translation, and grammar correction. Users can also execute smart PDF commands, listen to documents via audio or podcast-style formats, and generate or edit images to streamline PDF workflows and increase productivity.
Note: Foxit AI Assistant operates on a credit-based system for interactions with AI-powered tools. You can track your credit usage via the Credits icon
located at the top-right corner of the AI Chat panel in Foxit PDF Editor. For detailed information about credit usage, please refer to AI Credit Usage Policy.
The AI services are enabled by default. If you want to disable the feature, choose File in the Ribbon (or Foxit PDF Editor in the menu bar) > Preferences > General > Application Startup, check Disable AI Assistant under Application Startup, and restart the application. When the AI services are enabled, you can do any of the following to access the AI services:
- Click AI Assistant in the Ribbon and choose AI Chat from the AI Assistant tab. Then the AI Chat panel appears on the right side of the application window, allowing you to perform PDF tasks or access more tools and functions.
- If the “Show floating bar when selecting text” option is checked in the File tab (or Foxit PDF Editor menu) > Preferences > General > Basic Tools, select any text content in your document and choose a tool from the floating toolbar to perform tasks.
Tip: You need to sign in with Foxit Account to use the AI services.
